Disconnect the electrical power to the equipment and shut down the gas. Also, allow the equipment to cool down, especially if it was recently used. To clean the oven, remove the chrome-plated racks and wash them separately in a sink. Then, remove spillovers, grease, and other stains in the oven by wiping the surface with a soft cloth or other grease absorbing material. Wipe the stains while they are still warm to prevent them from burning in. Clean the oven and oven door daily. On the other hand, clean the grates using mild soap and water solution. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean towel. Then, season the grates lightly with liquid vegetable oil or spray-type cooking oil to prevent rusting. Put them back onto the range and turn on all the open top sections to “LOW” setting. Before using, allow the grates to burn for at least 15 minutes. For routine cleaning of stainless steel, use water mixed with ordinary soap or detergent. To remove discoloration, use a non-abrasive cleaner. Also, prevent water spots and streaks by rinsing the equipment thoroughly with warm water and wiping it dry with a soft clean cloth.
