Cleaning Instructions

We recommend performing cleaning about twice a year. The unit will not maintain a sanitary condition without human intervention. Use food-grade scale removers such as Scotsman Clear 1. Note that the ice machine must be connected to water, power, and drain during this procedure. It is important to use rubber gloves due to the acid contents of ice machine scale removers. These acids can cause burns. Please carefully read and observe the Maintenance and Cleaning section of the User Manual.

Maintenance Guide

The removable air filter located on the lower front grill will capture airborne dust during operation. As the dirt builds up, it begins to restrict airflow and causes the refrigeration system to work less efficiently. Clean the air filter regularly. Unplug the unit from the power supply before beginning to clean the condenser as the rotating fan blades can cause personal injury. The condenser fins require cleaning twice a year. Use caution to prevent damage to the condenser fins. Lightly brush the dust or use a vacuum to thoroughly clean the condenser.
